In 2017, our owner Dean Gilford was elected to the board of the Institute of Heating and Air Conditioning Industries (IHACI). “I have benefited from IHACI’s efforts and expertise,” Dean said when he was elected. “It is an honor to give back—in some small measure—by serving on the board.”
The Institute of Heating and Air Conditioning Industries is Southern California’s premier organization dedicated to educating and training HVAC professionals. Incorporated in 1948, IHACI is a non-profit trade association of contractors, manufacturers, distributors, utilities, and related businesses who are engaged in HVAC and sheet metal industries.
The mission statement of the IHACI is to develop programs that cultivate the best in professionalism, foresee and address changes, and foster honesty and ethics in the industry. At all times, IHACI aims to raise industry standards to benefit both customers and contractors.
IHACI has deep roots in Southern California and is committed to reducing energy consumption in the state. The organization has helped to raise energy efficiency standards, and the training it offers empowers technicians to remain code compliant and adhere to California’s Title 24 energy regulations and standards. IHACI education program and its regular newsletter, “The Comfort News,” have helped many technicians stay current with the latest regulations and cutting-edge technology.
Kilowatt has sent many of its employees to IHACI’s classes, and involvement with the organization has given us many opportunities to boost our service to customers. Dean is proud to serve on the board, and all of us are proud of our continuing involvement with an organization that works so hard for its members.
Kilowatt Heating, Air Conditioning and Electrical serves Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley with quality HVAC services.
